The Chișinău Court of Appeal upheld the lower court’s judgment. It found that the twins, who were 11 by that time, had clearly expressed their wish to live with their father and not their mother. The local welfare authority had concluded that the change of custody would be in the best interests of the children, who had strong ties to their father and would suffer from a further change in their place of residence.
